Rooted Together improves the wellbeing, sense of belonging and civic participation of migrants through evidence-based adult education. Six partners from the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Germany and Italy develop a competency framework on place connection and psychosocial resilience, a hybrid training for educators and a multilingual mobile app available in eight languages, piloted with migrant learners in community settings.

The partners will theoretical foundations and co-creation of a competency model for migrant wellbeing and place connection. Co-creation of a multilingual mobile app for migrant learners, available in eight languages. Development and pilot testing of a hybrid training methodology for adult educators. Stakeholder engagement, co-creation workshops and pilot testing to refine the outputs. Dissemination and advocacy at local, national and European level.

By the end of the project the consortium expects to deliver: validated competency model on place connection and psychosocial resilience; Multilingual mobile app for migrant learners; Hybrid training methodology and a cohort of trained educators; Improved psychosocial resilience and civic participation of migrant learners in the pilot communities; Evidence-based tools and methodologies shared with adult education providers across Europe.

Objectives

  • Improve migrant wellbeing, sense of belonging, place connection and civic participation through evidence-based adult education tools.
  • Develop a hybrid competency framework on place connection and psychosocial resilience.
  • Train educators to apply the framework in community settings through online and in-person modules.
  • Provide scalable methodologies for educators and support services across Europe.

What BACKSLASH does in this project

BACKSLASH is the community and youth work partner of the consortium. It co-leads the training methodology work package, designing and piloting the hybrid educator training with the coordinator, and leads the quality management plan of the project. It also brings the methodology to migrant learners and educators in Valencia and mobilises its national networks for dissemination.
