Connected by heARTs

The Connected by heARTs project aims primarily at developing a virtual training methodology for youth workers that enables them to unite and facilitate the joint participation of young people with and without disabilities in cultural and creative activities. Through art, the project seeks to foster social inclusion, promote tolerance and overcome prejudices and discriminatory attitudes in communities, providing young people with an environment where they can grow and create together. The initiative is based on the active collaboration of experts, youth professionals and cultural organisations, integrating young people with and without disabilities in an equitable manner.

The main material developed within the framework of the project is a virtual methodological guide based on a thorough analysis of the needs of the target group. This guide is interactive, explanatory and accessible, specifically designed to facilitate the personal and professional growth of youth with the support of youth professionals. In addition, it incorporates innovative concepts in the use of art as a means of social and cultural empowerment, establishing a unique and symbolic approach to inclusive training.

The impact of the Connected by HeARTs project was reflected in the creation of an inclusive space for 30 young people with disabilities, who actively participated in artistic and cultural activities, contributing to changing attitudes toward inclusion. The final event, held in Skopje, North Macedonia, brought together participants and organisations from the involved countries, strengthening the networks created and highlighting the value of art as a tool for social integration. The project made a positive impact by raising awareness and encouraging youth participation in diverse communities.
