Backslash concludes three years of work on the European E-volunteering project
Backslash has completed its participation in the European project E-volunteering, which ran for three years and concluded on 31 January 2026. The initiative brought together organisations including CONNECT International (coordinator), MoveIt, Libero, Mladi Zmaji, Curiosité Centre de Formation and Backslash to strengthen the development of online volunteering across Europe.
During the project, partners developed practical tools to support organisations and volunteers engaging in e-volunteering, including training curricula, policy recommendations and the E-volunteering platform, which connects volunteers with organisations and opportunities:

The project also engaged policymakers, civil society organisations and volunteers through several international events. The final hybrid policy conference in Brussels gathered stakeholders from across Europe, including 196 online participants who actively engaged in discussions on the future of volunteering in the digital age.
The consortium also produced a Standardisation Guide and Policy Recommendations to support the recognition and development of online volunteering across Europe, available here:

Through research, training and policy dialogue, the project contributed to advancing new approaches that make volunteering more accessible, flexible and inclusive in Europe.
