Digital Volunteering in Action: Volunt@@ring Training Succeed in Belgrade

On September 29th, the Volunt@@ring training event took place in Belgrade, Serbia, as part of the European project E-volunteering. This initiative brings together partners such as Backslash, Connect International (Belgium), Libero (Serbia), Mladi Zmaji (Slovenia), MoveIT (Greece), and Curiosité Centre de Formation (France).

For four intensive days, young people and representatives from various European organizations explored the world of digital volunteering, learning about its foundations, challenges, and opportunities.

The training was divided into two key areas:

1. Understanding Digital Volunteering: Participants examined the profile of digital volunteers, the organizational requirements for implementing digital volunteering successfully, and the challenges involved.
2. Developing Essential Skills: The training covered crucial aspects such as how to attract and engage digital volunteers, tools for team coordination, online learning resources, data protection and privacy regulations in the EU, and the importance of recognizing and validating digital volunteering.

Additionally, participants worked on soft skills that are valuable across different fields, including conflict management, teamwork, effective communication, and learning styles. The training followed a non-formal education approach, incorporating interactive methods such as brainstorming, debates, role plays, quizzes, and escape rooms.

The event was a great success. Participants not only gained valuable knowledge and skills but also felt more confident in taking part in digital volunteering initiatives and implementing them within their organizations.
