At Backslash, we are committed to creating a safe and secure environment for all children and young people who interact with our organization. That’s why on October 1st, 2018, we introduced our Child Protection Policy.
But what is a Child Protection Policy? It is a document that outlines the procedures and measures that an organization has in place to safeguard children from harm, abuse, and exploitation. This policy sets out our obligations and responsibilities in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people, and outlines our commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for them.
Our Child Protection Policy is based on national and international laws and guidelines, and is in line with best practices in child protection. It covers areas such as the recruitment and selection of staff, volunteers and interns, as well as guidelines for reporting and responding to concerns about the welfare of a child.
We believe that everyone has a role to play in keeping children safe, and we encourage all members of our organization to familiarize themselves with our policy and procedures.
