DigiMental Training of Trainers in Vigo

From 23 to 25 September, Backslash organised the DigiMental training at Colegio Montesol in Vigo, which welcomed youth professionals from the Erasmus+ project DigiMental, with participants from the partner organisations RISI (Iceland), Connect (Brussels) and Backslash (Spain).

Experiencing the methodology first-hand
Participants had the chance to experience the DigiMental methodology first-hand. But they didn’t stop there: they analysed it in search of opportunities and areas for improvement, and thought about how to adapt it to their own realities and the contexts in which they work.
The aim of the training: for every professional to be able to take DigiMental into their own context and replicate it with the young people they work with.

What is DigiMental?
DigiMental is a methodology that aims to improve the emotional wellbeing of young people. To do so, it integrates virtual reality as one of the tools for sparking conversations, and focuses on the role of the people who work with young people as companions and guides.
The project operates in the field of wellbeing and prevention, within a non-clinical framework: those who work with young people do not act as therapists, but are responsible for creating safe spaces where young people can recognise, name and share their emotions.

Coming soon
DigiMental continues. In addition to this in-person training, we are preparing a platform so the training can also be taken online, reaching more professionals and more territories. We will keep sharing news on our website and social media.
The DigiMental project is co-funded by the European Union.
