Empowering youth for true climate action

Empowering Youth for True Climate Action (EYTCA) trains young people and youth professionals to tackle greenwashing, equipping them with digital tools and specialised training to assess environmental impact and drive genuine climate action. It is the first European youth project coordinated by a Greenlandic organisation.

The project developed the Green Benchmark Tool, a digital assessment calculator that allows youth organisations to measure their sustainability and spot greenwashing practices, alongside a Story Repository featuring 30 educational stories on sustainability and climate action from Spain, Croatia and Greenland. A study visit to Greenland provided first-hand insight into the country’s sustainability and youth landscape through meetings with institutions such as the European Commission Delegation and the Marine Resources Research Centre, while a training in Croatia equipped 12 youth professionals to act as multipliers in their communities.

To reach wider audiences, the project ran a sustainability dialogue in Spain with sustainability and youth-work professionals, an information session at a high school, and an international social media campaign aimed at raising awareness among 1,000 young people about the impact of greenwashing.
