The EYTCA project reaches the classroom with its final event

On 19 February, Backslash held the multiplier event of the European project Empowering Youth for True Climate Action (EYTCA) in Spain at IES Johan Carballeira in Bueu (Galicia), involving students aged 15 and 16.

EYTCA is an Erasmus+ project developed in partnership with organisations from Greenland and Croatia. It responds to a clear concern: how to strengthen a more critical perspective on sustainability narratives and how to provide tools to distinguish between genuine commitment and superficial environmental messaging.

During the session, students were introduced to the project and the main resources developed within it. Among them is the Green Benchmark Tool, a tool designed to analyse sustainability-related practices and support a more structured understanding of greenwashing.

Beyond the presentation, the session combined explanation with participatory work, creating a space for exchange in which the group could approach these issues through discussion and shared reflection.

With this event, we conclude the project’s dissemination cycle in Spain, bringing its results into the educational context and reinforcing the connection between European cooperation and local youth work.

The Empowering Youth for True Climate Action project is co-funded by the European Union.
